STEP 1: Complete online waiver

Complete the online waiver. Every participant must have a signed liability form. For minors, only the parent or court appointed legal guardian may sign. 

STEP 2: Do you want to boulder climb or toprope climb?

What is bouldering?

Bouldering refers to climbing on our shorter walls that go up to 14ft. There are additional pads to help cushion a climbers fall. There are no ropes involved in bouldering. Bouldering is a great way to learn climbing movement and offers a great challenge. There are no reservations required. To boulder and rent shoes is $22

What is toprope climbing?

This is climbing with a rope that is attached at the top of the wall. A climber is tied to one end and a belayer is on the other end. Top rope climbing requires two people. Top roping at Climbnasium goes up to 40ft. Instruction is required for all new belayers. Instruction on how to safely toprope is offered in our "belay instruction class". You must be 15 years of age or older to belay (hold the rope) for someone, however any age may do the climbing portion of toprope climbing.  Toprope climbing requires two people to participate. This class is offered at certain times. There are no reservations required. Simply arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the start of a class time to register yourself in the class. We do our very best to start the belay classes on time! If you are late and the class has begun, you'll have to wait for the next instruction time or boulder climb. Pricing is $12 to learn how to belay, $17 to climb, $5 for shoes and $4 for harness rental. Added up is $37.

FAQ

Is there an age limit? No. However, we recommend 8 and up.

 

How do I get started, it's my first time? All the info to get started can be found on our First Visit page.  

I already know how to belay. Do I need to take the belay instruction? You do not need to take the belay instruction. You must however, pass our belay test by demonstrating you can perform all the tasks involved in tying in, setting up and properly belaying. 

Can any age belay? No. Belayers must be 15 years of age or older to belay. Any age may do the toprope climbing, just not holding the rope for others. 

Do I need a reservation? Reservations are only required for "groups". Walk-ins are welcome anytime. If you are new and plan on using the ropes (toproping) please follow the directions found here as belay instruction is offered at certain times. 

Does everyone need a waiver? Yes, and for minors only Parent or Court Appointed Legal Guardian may sign.

Is there a weight limit? There is not. As long as you can fit into a harness, you can climb.

What is belaying? Belaying is the term used to do the rope management for the climbers. In basic terms, taking out the slack, catching the climber and lowering them back to the ground.

Do you have gift cards? We do. Gifts are for any dollar amount you choose, not for any specific service. We do not offer online purchasing of gift cards. To obtain a gift card please call 717-795-9580 during our operating hours and we can mail one to you or stop in.
